Vilfred (Will) Margison

Vilfred (Will) Margison completed his undergraduate degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, with a concentration in law, at Carleton University. Will went on to earn his law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2025, where he also completed a specialized option in Dispute Resolution and Professionalism.

During his legal studies, Will developed a strong foundation in litigation and dispute resolution, with a focus on practical, application-based courses. His experience included advocacy at both the trial and appellate levels, as well as with a range of alternative dispute resolution processes. These experiences resulted in Will’s strong interest in litigation and client advocacy.

Prior to joining Simmonds Law, Will completed a practicum and summer internship working with sole practitioners, both located in downtown Ottawa, before articling at a boutique law firm in the Ottawa region. During his articles, Will gained experience across a broad range of litigation matters, including active involvement in proceedings before the Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice, and various tribunals. Will’s work throughout his articling term involved handling files from commencement to resolution, including the drafting and preparation of a wide range of legal materials.

Will was called to the bar in March 2026 and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario.

Outside of his legal practice, Will enjoys a diverse range of hobbies, including gaming, cooking, and travelling to new countries. Will and his fiancée recently adopted a Pomeranian puppy named Hudson, whom they enjoy training and walking with.
